Title:
SA and ER IA Scores Underreporting for Spring 2008 and 2009 OAT

Narrative:
It has been discovered that the D3A2 is underreporting IA class scores for short answer and extended response items for Spring 2008 and Spring 2009 OAT results.  The underreporting occurs at all levels - class, building, district, and state.
For math, reading, social studies, science, and 4th grade writing these scores are being displayed in D3A2 as follows:
Actual Scores Displayed Scores
% of students scoring 0 points % of students scoring 0 points
% of students scoring 1 points % of students scoring 0.5 points
% of students scoring 2 points % of students scoring 1.0 points
% of students scoring 3 points % of students scoring 1.5 points
% of students scoring 4 points % of students scoring 2.0 points
empty % of students scoring 2.5 points
empty % of students scoring 3.0 points
empty % of students scoring 3.5 points
empty % of students scoring 4.0 points
For 7th writing, the relationship between actual score and displayed scores is as follows:
Actual Scores Displayed Scores
% of students scoring 0 points % of students scoring 0 points
% of students scoring 1-2 points % of students scoring 0.5 points
% of students scoring 3-4 points % of students scoring 1.0 points
% of students scoring 5-6 points % of students scoring 1.5 points
% of students scoring 7-8 points % of students scoring 2.0 points
% of students scoring 9-10 points % of students scoring 2.5 points
empty % of students scoring 3.0 points
empty % of students scoring 3.5 points
empty % of students scoring 4.0 points
The D3A2 Group is working to correct this problem by modifying the Item Analysis - Advanced Tab and Item Detail Report in D3A2 to show the correct values  This issue should be resolved by April.

The updates necessary to correct this problem will be applied to the production environment at the end of June, 2010. This will give the D3A2 Team to prepare the necessary documentation and show the ITC Implementers the new features in D3A2 version 3.0.
