Data Driven Decisions for Academic Achievement (D3A2)

Data Tool

Login to the Data ToolD3A2 is a set of tools that puts data and resources in the hands of educators in a powerful, easy-to-use format. It helps educators analyze data, and then points them to resources such as lesson plans and assessments, all designed to address the specific academic needs identified by the data.

  • Phase I of the D3A2 project provides item analysis data from the Ohio Achievement and Graduation Tests, giving you a valuable window into student performance.
  • Plans are underway for a Phase II, allowing you to house item analysis data from your local district assessments.

Application Tabs

There are multiple methods of accessing reports within D3A2:

How did my current students perform on their prior year tests? How did my prior year classes perform on the state tests?
Current Students Tab Data Analysis-Lite Tab
on the Current Students Tab, teachers explore their current students’ strengths and weaknesses, through analysis of their previous test results on the Ohio Achievement and Graduation Tests. Class lists are automatically re-rostered to reflect current student and teacher course assignments by uploading district data to the Data Warehouse          On the Data Analysis Lite Tab, teachers explore how the students in their prior year classes performed on the Ohio Achievement and Graduation Tests.  Here, they can view the percentage of students at each of the five levels of performance, as reported on the statewide assessments, as well as their proficiency on each tested standard.

How did my prior year classes respond to items on the tests?
Item Analysis Advanced
On the Item Analysis Advanced tab, teachers can see at a glance how the students in their class responded to individual questions on the state assessment and compare their results with those earned by their school, district, and state.

Current Students

Reports on the Current Results tab highlight teachers' current students’ strengths and weaknesses, through analysis of their previous year’s test results:

View the Current Students Tab

The Current Students Tab displays the number and percentage of students who tested at each of the five levels of proficiency on all tests administered for the previous year, as well as the total number of students tested.  Student counts are calculated based upon values selected in the report prompt area and reflect the total number of students contained in classes, schools, buildings, or districts.
View the Current Students Results ReportThe Current Students Results report summarizes the numbers and percentages of students that tested below, near, and above the proficiency level on each tested standard, shows easy-to-interpret color blocks indicating the percentage of students at each proficiency level, and presents an action grid to access student level results or resources aligned to the standard level.
View the Current Student Results by Standard ReportThe Current Student Performance-Standards report displays each student's subject level proficiency score, as well as their raw scores in each tested standard.  Students are listed by name.  All columns are sortable.  Clicking on a student's name allows access to the longitudinal student reports.
View the Current Class Data All Standards ReportThe Current Class Data-All Standards report displays each student's test proficiency score and their proficiency rating in each tested standard or standards group.
View the Student Longitudinal Matrix ReportThe Student Longitudinal Matrix report displays information about any given student's performance on each test administration which their district has loaded into the Data Warehouse.
View the Longitudinal Student Comparisoin ReportThe Longitudinal Student Comparison report displays student's test results for a single subject across multiple administrations as compared to class, school, district, and all D3A2 districts.
View the Longitudinal Standards Comparison ReportThe Longitudinal Standards Comparison report displays the results for a given student's subject level scores as compared to the class, school, and all D3A2 district scores from a given test administration.

Data Analysis - Lite

The Data Analysis Lite tab reports on the past performance of classes in all areas where they have been tested.  Educators can drill down to view performance at the student, subject, standard, benchmark, and item levels.  Resources may be accessed at each level of the report.

View the Data Analysis Lite Tab

The Data Analysis Lite Tab displays the number and percentage of students who tested at each of the five levels of proficiency on all tests administered, as well as the total number of students tested, for any given year from which the district has loaded test data into the Data Warehouse.  Teachers can view how each of their prior years' classes performed.  Administrators can view how students belonging to each class, teacher, and building within the district performed.
View the Data Analysis Lite - Standard ReportThe Data Analysis Lite Results report summarizes the numbers and percentages of students that tested below, near, and above the proficiency level on each tested standard, shows easy-to-interpret color blocks indicating the percentage of students at each proficiency level, and presents an action grid to access the benchmark performance views, student level results, or resources aligned to the standard level.
View the Benchmark Analysis ReportThe Benchmark Analysis report displays how students performed in each benchmark area that was tested beneath in a given academic content standard.  Results are grouped by test question type (multiple choice, short answer, and extended response) and compares each class' results to their school, district, and state.
View the Items Detail ReportThe Items Detail report presents classroom level item analysis of test questions for any selected benchmark area.  Graphs display either percentage of students answering A, B, C, or D (multiple choice questions) or percentage of students scoring possible point values (short answer/extended response questions).
View a Released Test ItemThe Item Detail report displays actual released test items along with its own individual analysis.
View the Student Performance-Standard ReportThe Student Performance-Standard report displays each student's subject level proficiency score, as well as their raw scores in each tested standard.  Students are listed by name.  All columns are sortable.  Clicking on links open the Benchmark Analysis report or Resource Exchange to display related information.

Item Analysis - Advanced

The Item Analysis Advanced tab provides a more comprehensive look at item analysis results for any test administration from which districts have loaded data into the Data Warehouse.

Note: the state testing vendor does not provide classroom level results in the item analysis results for OGT administrations.  As a result, the Item Analysis - Advanced screen only displays item analysis data for grades 3 through 8.

View the Item Analysis Advanced Tab

The Item Analysis Advanced Tab displays how the students responded to individual questions on the state assessment. The Class % Correct column provides the percentage of students correctly answering the question at the classroom level. Additional columns show the percentage of students answering the question correctly at the building, district and state level.   Teachers can view how each of their prior years' classes answered questions on the assessment and jump into a detailed analysis of their performance.
