D3A2 offers instructional websites, professional development, and training materials to support the needs of teachers, administrators, and district support personnel as they prepare to use data to inform instructional decision-making in the classroom.

Opportunities

Web-based training on a variety of topics to support the adoption of D3A2 by Ohio's districts. An extensive collection of professional development materials to assist districts in their efforts to build cultures of inquiry and support the use of data in instructional decision-making. Instructor led training in the use of D3A2's Data Tool and Resource Exchange applications.

Move Ahead

Developed in conjunction with Center for Special Needs Populations at The Ohio State University, Move Ahead external link is a diagnostic tool designed to help districts determine where they are at in terms of working with data and help implement a formal data team process and strengthening of a data culture where all are involved in using data to improve student performance.

Target Audience: District data team members, building principals, and groups of teachers.

Data Primer

Co-designed by the Great Lakes East Comprehensive Center and the D3A2 Professional Development Committee and hosted by Learning Point Associates, the Ohio Data Primer external link is an instructional website designed to help educators become more comfortable with thinking about and using data for the purposes of instructional decision making. State achievement test data as well as short cycle and formative data are presented in tutorial and practice formats that enable educators to better understand and use data.

Target Audience: Building principals and groups of teachers.

Professional Development

D3A2 Professional Development Toolkit

The Professional Development Toolkit is an extensive collection of training materials including activity guides, sample agendas, support materials, and insightful video clips. The four modules that make up the Toolkit, are designed to: provide background knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use the D3A2 website; encourage the development of a culture of inquiry within the school setting; improve the ability to read and analyze item analysis data through identification of significant patterns and trends and the strengths and limitations of the data; and promote the use of item analysis data to improve instructional practice.

Access to the wealth of training materials that constitute the D3A2 Professional Development Toolkit is obtained by registering and logging into the Professional Development Toolkit page (access to these materials is temporarily restricted to graduates of the 2008 facilitator academies).

Target Audience: ESC and ITC personnel, district trainers and data team members.
