Tour the Data Tool
Training Description: This training demonstrates the major features of the D3A2 Data Tool (Release 2.0) and provides information about how to access essential resources to help get districts started with using the Data Tool.
Target Audience: Anyone who is interested in learning more about the D3A2 Data Tool including: District administrators, teachers, SST members, ESC personnel, and ITC staff, among others.
Format: Instructor-led, online session using Elluminate Live! to display sample district data with time for questions and answers.
Learning Objectives: Participants will: (a) become familiar with the features of the Data Tool; (b) understand that the Data Tool has been created as a support districts may voluntarily use as they institute data-driven instructional practices; (c) evaluate whether the Data Tool would be valuable to their district; and (d) know how to locate resources that can help get them started using the Data Tool.
Prerequisites: None.

Tour The Resource Exchange
Training Description: This training demonstrates the major features of the D3A2 Resource Exchange (Release 2.0), including searching for educational resources, sorting the results, and using bookbags to save them. It also demonstrates how the Resource Exchange integrates into the Data Tool and provides information about how to access essential resources to help get districts going with using the Resource Exchange.
Target Audience: Anyone who is interested in learning more about the D3A2 Data Tool including: District administrators, teachers, SST members, ESC personnel, and ITC staff, among others.
Format: Instructor-led online session using Elluminate Live! with time for questions and answers.
Learning Objectives: Participants will: (a.) become familiar with the features of the Resource Exchange; (b) understand that the Resource Exchange has been created as a support districts may voluntarily use as they institute data-driven instructional practices; (c) evaluate whether the Resource Exchange would be valuable to their district; and (d) know how to locate resources that can help get them started using the Resource Exchange.

Implementation & Data Preparation
Training Description: This training outlines the D3A2 implementation process, and includes instruction in: the roles and responsibilities of district and ITC staff; the tasks involved with data preparation; and how to access essential support documents.
Target Audience: District and ITC staff members who are interested in how to help districts to get up and running with D3A2 including but not limited to: EMIS coordinators, Test Coordinators, Curriculum Directors, Technology Coordinators, and district data team members.
Format: Instructor-led online session using Elluminate Live! with time for questions and answers.
Learning Objectives: Participants will: (a) understand that D3A2 implementation is a shared responsibility between districts and their ITCs; (b) know how to initiate the implementation process; (c) describe what types of data are contained in the data warehouse and how data makes its way to the D3A2 team for upload; (d) know what data must be scrubbed, who performs the scrubbing, and why; (e) identify the location of resources that can help guide them through D3A2 implementation.

Introduction to the D3A2 Data Scrubber
Training Description: This training provides districts and ITC staff with the background knowledge necessary to understand the data scrubbing process followed by a guided introduction of the D3A2 Data Scrubber during which sample data is loaded and scrubbed.
Target Audience: District and ITC staff members who are tasked with the responsibility of preparing district data for upload to the D3A2 Data Warehouse. District titles include but not limited to: EMIS coordinators, Test Coordinators, Curriculum Directors, Technology Coordinators, and data team members.
Format: Instructor-led, online session using Elluminate Live! and sample district data with time for questions and answers.
Learning Objectives: Participants will: (a) learn how to access and log into the Data Scrubber; (b) upload and process student scores and item analysis files; (c) describe the three tabbed areas of the scrubber and the tasks that are performed on each; (d) define crosswalk and identify the source of state-issued student and teacher ID numbers; and (e) find essential support documents located on the D3A2 project website.
Prerequisites: Implementation & Data Preparation (recommended).

Introduction to D3A2's Professional Development Resources
Training Description: As part of its comprehensive approach to introducing data-driven methodologies to the classroom, D3A2 offers Professional Development opportunities and materials designed to meet the specific needs of teachers.
This session introduces the various professional development resources offered by D3A2 including:
- D3A2 Interactive Tour
- Train-the-Trainer materials
- Instructional Websites
- D3A2 Professional Development Toolkit
Emphasis is placed on using the D3A2 Train-the-Trainer & support materials, as well as its instructional websites.
Target Audience: District and ITC staff members who are evaluating D3A2's professional development resources for use in training teachers.
Format: Instructor-led, online session using Elluminate Live! and sample district data with time for questions and answers.
Learning Objectives: Participants will:
(a) Locate and access D3A2’s PD materials; (b) Identify the types of training resources offered on the D3A2 website; (c) Indicate the intended audience and purpose for each training resource on the D3A2 website; (d) assess whether the D3A2 Train-the-Trainer materials and D3A2’s instructional websites are applicable to their district’s training goals and needs; and (e) begin using D3A2’s Train-the-Trainer materials to train district users in the use of the D3A2 Data Tool and Resource Exchange.

Introduction to the D3A2 Professional Development Modules I and II
Training Description: The D3A2 Professional Development Toolkit is an extensive collection of training materials including activity guides, sample agendas, support materials, and insightful video clips. This training provides a detailed introduction to materials of the Facilitator’s Guide, Module I, Module II, Module III, and Module IV.
- The Facilitator’s Guide describes the organization of the PD Toolkit Modules and provides an overview of how the materials should be used to be used to plan, implement, and evaluate training.
Module I consists of videos and activities designed to help introduce school personnel to the D3A2 project and the benefits of using data in the classroom.
Module II consists of learning activities for new teachers to introduce information about the state testing and assessment system that every teacher must know in order to understand OAT and OGT results data. - Module III consists of learning activities for teachers to acquaint them with using the D3A2 Data Tool to analyze how well students performed on the OAT and OGT administrations.
- Module IV consists of learning activities designed to help teachers answer the question “how can the interpretation of item analysis data be used to inform my decisions about curriculum, instruction, and assessment?"
Target Audience: District and ITC staff members who are evaluating D3A2's professional development resources for use in training teachers.
Format: Instructor-led, online session using Elluminate Live! and sample district data with time for questions and answers.
Learning Objectives: Participants will:
(a) locate and access the D3A2 Professional Development Toolkit materials by creating an account and logging into the D3A2 website; (b) understand how the PD Toolkit materials are organized on the D3A2 website; (c) identify the purpose of the D3A2 PD Toolkit Facilitator’s Guide; (d) outline the Guiding Question and Competencies for Modules I through IV; (e) assess whether the D3A2 PD Toolkit materials are applicable to their district’s professional development goals and needs; and (f) use the Activity Guides, Blank Agenda Templates, and Pre-Assessments to create trainings tailored to their teachers’ specific needs.

SCRUBBER TRAINING & SUPPORT
Training Description: This training offers on-site training at ITC locations to provide district and ITC staff with hands-on training in the use of the D3A2 data scrubber as well as an overview of the D3A2 implementation process.
Target Audience: Disrict and ITC staff members who are tasked with the responsibility of preparing district data for upload to the D3A2 Data Warehouse. District titles include but not limited to: EMIS coordinators, Test Coordinators, Curriculum Directors, Technology Coordinators, and data team members.
Format: Hands on with instructor-led facilitation using live district data.
Learning Objectives: Participants will: (a) create district Data Scrubber accounts and log in; (b) upload and process district OAT and OGT student results and item analysis files obtained from the most recent spring administration; (c) understand the three tabbed areas of the scrubber and use them to process their district’s test results data; (d) manage and repair their district’s crosswalk files; and (e) learn how to locate essential support documents located on the D3A2 project website.
Prerequisites: Tour the D3A2 Data Scrubber (recommended).
Registration: Information Technology Centers (ITC) may request this training by contacting D3A2 Operations Group. Registration is by invitation only.
Train-the-Trainer Series
Description: The D3A2 Train-the-Trainer Series provides a thorough introduction to the Data Tool and Resource Exchange while modeling a process that district trainers can follow to increase teachers' understanding and comfort with the D3A2 Data Tool and Resource Exchange. Participants receive materials that can be used to introduce these essential tools back in their home districts.
Target Audience: Trainers from ESCs, ITCs, SSTs, and local districts. Administrators who are interested in evaluating D3A2 for use in their own districts. District data team members.
Format: Hands on with instructor-led facilitation using sample district data in computer lab settings.
Learning Objectives: Participants will: (a) have step-by-step directions on using D3A2 features; (b) receive a resource for quick reference on features as they navigate through D3A2 screens; (c) understand that the Data Tool has been created as a support districts may voluntarily use as they institute data-driven instructional practices; (d) evaluate whether the Data Tool would be valuable to their district; and (e) know how to locate resources that can help get them started using the Data Tool.

Professional Development Toolkit Facilitator Academy
Description: The D3A2 Facilitator Academy provides a comprehensive overview of the Professional Development Toolkit, an extensive collection of materials including activity guides, sample agendas, support materials, and insightful video clips. The four modules that make up the Toolkit:
- Provide background knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use the D3A2 Web site;
- Encourage the development of a culture of inquiry within the school setting;
- Improve the ability to read and analyze item analysis data through identification of significant patterns and trends and the strengths and limitations of the data; and
- Promote the use of item analysis data to improve instructional practice.
Target Audience: Educational Service Center (ESC) trainers, ITC trainers, and district data Team Members.
Format: Full day seminar.
Learning Objectives: Participants will: (a) become familiar with the materials and resources within the D3A2 Professional Development Toolkit; (b) learn a process for working with fellow educators to read, analyze and interpret item analysis data to better inform instructional decision-making; and (c) experience tools and strategies provided to support the planning and delivery of ongoing, sustainable professional learning experiences.
Prerequisites: Tour the Data Tool or Train-the-Trainer Series (recommended).
